Week 3

Lots of painting and picking out things went on this week!

Tile for Master Bath.  Floor tile will be this size and for the shower it will be large subway shaped tiles 8x24 with 2x2 small tiles in the shower floor.
Piece of granite sample for vanity in top right corner.  Drew and the cabinet guy talked me out of marble. Drew said I was too messy and I would stain the marble and we were able to get this granite as a remnant piece for much less!

I'm so excited about this unique piece of exotic granite that we were able to get for a steal for the kitchen island.  The granite place got just one slab of it, so it isn't enough to do a whole kitchen in.  They have had it in stock for a while, and it was discounted as cheap or cheaper than a remnant piece.  It will be just perfect as a piece that will contrast the current countertops but still fit in nicely with the kitchen.
Painted crown molder that will go upstairs.  Primed door that will go upstairs.

Closet shelving painted.

Week 2

Week 2 involved trimming out front (thank you Dad, Mike and Larry Sturges!),  prepping rooms for painting, taking down what we could while waiting on the building permit and replacing subflooring in the Master Bedroom.

We also learned we have to have a variance granted by the city of Decatur in order to add the Master Bath, so it will be another month almost before we can go before the Board of Zoning Adjustment to ask for it.

Tree limb coming down...

Daddy, what is Pops doing?

The sap coming out of the tree was unbelievable!

Limb down

Maybe Mr. Vann can explain what Pops is doing...  this chain saw is interesting.

Closet doors being painted- thank you Dell and Mary for all your hard work painting!

And I did a little bargain shopping.....

Hobby Lobby had all their mirrors and lamps 50% off.  Mirror for upstairs bath.

Pair of lamps for master bedroom

Painting I couldn't resist...

One of two matching mirrors for the master bath

The coolest thing all week...  Drew found an old milk man bill from 1968 of the Pruitt's behind the hot water heater!

Imitating Allie sitting in front of the house :)
(FYI- Daddy took him to get his hair cut, hence why it is all uneven!)
Allie likes the new house!
